Expectations and Participatory Performance of Husbands in Improvement of Anxiety Disorders in Pregnant Women: A Qualitative Study

Purpose. Husbands’ participation is important in the success of maternal health programs. This emphasized all dimensions including mental health. study was conducted to examine husband’s expectations and participatory performance improve anxiety pregnant women. Design Methods. A descriptive qualitative via targeted convenience sampling two public private maternity care centers. 30 women who were 13–38-week diagnosed with disorder a Structured Clinical Interview for DSM-5 (SCID-5), 16 husbands experienced semistructured in-depth interview. Data extracted by conventional content analysis using MAXQDA software (version 18). Findings. reduce produced three themes emotion, behavior, cognition terms men’s women’s perspectives. Approximately 70% subthemes common among men which included emotion (emotional psychological support, strengthening verbal communication, receiving attention love, creating field entertainment), behavior (following up on mother fetus’s health, housekeeping, compatibility mood changes, material financial provision, companionship during childbirth), (increasing knowledge pregnancy ability resolve conflict). However, had some differences. Practice Implications. While adjusting communication making positive changes lifestyle, anxious well-posedness, childbirth, loyalty as factors influencing improvement their disease.
